HOTT battle report (Orcs vs Dwarves)

After the revival of Warmaster it was the turn of another all-time-classic. Hordes of the Things! We played a demo game at Legion Wargaming club with 24AP of Orcs vs Dwarves in 15mm.

Orcs are from Demonworld. Dwarves are from Pendraken (10mm ones but I play them as 15mm since they are actually more on the 12mm side)

Yesterday we had another fascinating evening with Warmaster.Again orcs vs empire but 2k points this time. Both armies came very close to their breaking point with the Empire getting the victory at the end.

Warlordgames paintstation review

I recently purchased a paintstation from warlordgames.co.uk to

i) help me organize my painting corner which is usually a mess full of half painted miniatures, paints, modeling knifes etc

ii) enable me to move my hobby around inside the house for those painting sessions in the living room while my significant other is watching the telly. Much better than locking myself in the study room…

Demonworld miniatures resurrected

Ral Partha Europe has saved the Demonworld line. 5 years after the collapse of the company that produced the splendid line of 15mm fantasy miniatures, those will now once again be widely available. We have based quite some HOTT armies on this line (http://www.athens-fantasy.gr/tag/demonworld/) and Ral Partha has promised to produce smaller packs this time, which will make it much easier to build those varied 24AP armies!

Miniature Mentor painting video tutorials

This weekend I treated myself with a monthly subscription to miniaturementor.com

This is a web site that provides video tutorials about miniature painting and sculpting from some of the top painters and sculptors (people that have collaborated with Rakham, GW and the likes).

You can either get individual videos for 20$-30$ each or go for a 70$ monthly subscription and download them all (which is what I am doing)!

Blood Bowl goblins

How could I resist?

I just ordered my second Blood bowl team: The most fun and unpredictable team of the sport! The bloodbowl gamblers, whiners and cheaters! GOBLINS!!!!!

I decided to order from Neomics as I like their goblin miniatures more than the originals from Games Workshop.

I went for 12 goblins, 4 star players (bomber, chainsaw, ball and chain fanatic, gobbo jumper) and a big and ugly Troll!

I am prepared to lose most of the games only for the immense satisfaction of the occasional surprise win.

I need to get moving with the painting of the Orcs team though. Half of the team is painted and now i ll have one more reason to speed up!!!
